Ingredients
- 500 gram ground beef from a quality butcher
- 4 brioche buns
- 1 jar large pickle slices
- 1 extra large beef tomato
- 12 rashers streaky bacon
- 1 lettuce head
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- American mustard sauce
- ketchup
Instructions
- Bake the bacon rashers in the oven on 180°c for about 10-15 minutes (depending on their thickness) or until crispy
- Take the minced beef and spread it loosely over an oven tray. It's really important that the meat doesn't stick together but stays nice and crumbly
- Divide the meat in 4 and shape the patties with your hands. You can't press it to much. It has to stay as loose as possible
- Slice the tomato, wash the lettuce and cut the brioche buns in half
- Season the patties with pepper and salt
- Heat the large frying pan and sear the patties on one side. You can push down once so the meat makes good contact with the pan. But no more after that or you will press out all those delicious juices
- Flip the patty and add the cheese slice on top
- Toast the brioche in the toaster
- Put 3 bacon rashers on top of the cheesy patty and 1 tomato slice
- Take the buns and put some mustard and ketchup on both halves. Add the patty with cheese, bacon and tomato, add the lettuce and pickles and close with the brioche top
- Dig in as soon as possible! And serve with my super crunchy oven fries recipe
